Michael Plude, PT, DPT, CSCS, has extensive movement experience as a former collegiate athlete, hitting/catching instructor, strength and conditioning coach, physical therapist, and barefoot runner. He melds these varied experiences into a unique assessment and treatment philosophy that allows individuals to get the most out of their movement potential in order to improve their performance and quality of life.

Michael was born in Connecticut, where he grew up playing baseball, football, basketball, and the occasional round of golf. He received his bachelor’s degree from Vassar College, where he earned a degree in Economics while captaining the baseball team as a catcher and corner infielder.

After graduating, he moved to New York City, where he was the lead hitting/catching instructor and strength and conditioning coach for NY Empire Baseball. He went on to receive his Post-Baccalaureate Degree from NYU and his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from LIU-Brooklyn.

During his studies at LIU, Michael participated in two specialized clinical rotations to study Functional Manual Therapy and continued his studies post-graduation with the Institute of Physical Art finding particular interest in PNF and motor development.

Dr. Plude also specializes in treating connective tissue disorders. He was diagnosed with one himself in his 20’s and has a strong passion for working with others to help them navigate their hypermobile lives.
